SS 317 offers superior corrosion resistance compared to standard stainless steels like SS 304 and SS 316, especially in chloride-rich environments. It provides enhanced protection against pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion, making it ideal for harsh chemical and marine applications.
SS 317 Hollow Bars typically contain 18-20% chromium, 3-4% molybdenum, 13-15% nickel, with small amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon. This composition provides excellent corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides, and enhances its strength at high temperatures.
